Responsibilities and Accomplishments

·         Served as Founding Director of the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester, PA Worked with a group of volunteers to form a non-profit organization, with 24-member Board of Directors and subcommittees; ran Capital Campaign, raising $4.2 million to purchase and renovate a decommissioned Armory into flexible, mixed-use live performance space, opened on December 31, 2016; worked with Board to bring 7 resident companies under the Uptown! umbrella; brought together and supervised staff team to market and run the new theater; established transparent, sustainable operating procedures, including budget, payroll and financial reporting

2009-2011 Executive Director, Darlington Arts Center, Garnet Valley, PA

·         Transitioned organization to second-generation leadership Enlarged and diversified Board of Directors; worked with Board, artists and pro bono consultants to complete new mission statement and strategic plan; established partnership opportunities with local and regional governments, businesses, associations boards, libraries and schools; created Parents’ Committee

·         Broadened and deepened donor base, revenue stream and  stakeholder constituencies Worked with 24-member Board and 12-member Advisory Board to articulate the organization’s unique history and identity as one of America’s first racially integrated community choirs; collaborated with Board members on solicitation of major gifts; supervised writing of grant proposals and reports, and the Annual Fund effort; coordinated management, budgeting, reporting and audit; created and managed regular publication schedule, including website, newsletters and social media; coordinated strategic marketing for programs and concerts
